The Moynihan report blamed the lack of good jobs for Black men as the reason behind the so-called dysfunction of the Black family. Give men fair jobs with good wages they deserved and the problems of Black families would disappear. His report was exaggerated, policy recommendations ignored. I think your piece mischaracterizes the report.

Although I appreciate the theologian’s argument, I find it difficult to believe that the thousands of nations in Africa all felt the exact same way about childbirth before marriage. I hate when people treat Africa as a country, not the second largest continent on the planet.
